Memory and a Dream I thought it had happened, finally; the place no one gets to see, the stage, you can never return to describe. It started with a pace, running mad in the fields, scared darkness, flashing lights. Every blade of grass was my witness, every pebbled stone lay magnified. Then the silence, the looking around, the descent into emptiness. Beautitude with a laughter. I surrendered to the atoms, surrounding me. They cut off the noise, and nothing remained, except the sound of the waterfall, gushing madly into sorrow. Then its rest for the night, Settled, lessened, collected. So, this is how it feels to give up, to give in. To surrender everything you ever got. This is how it feels, to die in the midst of living, and to come back, remembering each time, how it felt to listen, to the call of liberation, just before the execution hour.
