The Barrier

Image
The desire to fly, without boundaries, you look at the kite, and aspire that flight, gliding effortlessly, without fear, without struggle, day after day, and one day, you spot it, the miniscule insect, beside its giant predator, so you watch them both and wonder who is more fearless, the predator or the prey, who knows very well it will not outlast the brief flight of freedom, and yet takes the risk, only because the flight is higher than the end, it forsees next to itself. And you remember who you've been, shuttling between the two... So, now you're stoic and happy, but you're also detached. The hurt you cause is your own and you remember how it felt to be a dragonfly in another life, but now, you say you're sorry, but you don't have a choice. The wings have grown, and your need to fly is much more, Kites and dragonflies can't communicate anymore, they may see the same horizon but for one, it is home, the other a conquest.

Her World...

The Vintage Festival by Sir Laurence Alma Tadema Is vast and unassuming, a place where the unpredictable always happens, adventure, magic, desire, drama, and the Queen rules, causing unsuspecting travelers, tired and weary to take shelter in her palace and dreams The fountains soothe them, the wine and food fulfil and the warmth satisfies. But travelers must travel, so they thank the Queen, apologise for misleading her into thinking they would stay, never once asking if she would like to leave the golden domes of that perfect splendor world to an unknown land, where she would be just an ordinary peasant girl, sweat and dirt in the day and at night, sleep in loving arms, not once asking, not once knowing, that she would gladly do so, knowing well, her magic world can create castles of riches and plentiful even in hot arid deserts, even in cold harsh winters, even in flooded flash fields, of love and comfort even in a land where love never survived before.
