Statutory

My heart is an ocean,
Tumultuous, torrid and deafening

Not a sea, gentle waves lashing
On a cobbled beach, shells and feet

Not a river, frisky and sure,
Merrily bouncing to reach its end

Not a lake, hidden from view,
Blue stability above, green secrets below

Not a hot spring, erupting when it
Can't keep it in any more, helping, healing

My heart is an ocean,
Endless churning of emotions
Vast and alluring, a solitary
Soldier fighting a solitary war

My heart is an ocean
Only welcoming those unafraid
To sink and drown in its deep corners
No one dared ventured into before
