The Answer

Finding the middle road,

The one between  the left and the right,

The black and the white,

The shadow and the light.

Between love and lust,

Between  betrayal and trust,

The valley that lies on a flat ground,

Between the mountain and the clouds.

You are confused, you don't want to lose.

But there are other ways to be,

Between the resignation and the recklessness.

There is always a way,

To be happy and yet be moral,

To be wrong and yet be right.

To get what you want so badly,

And still not hurt a soul in sight.

Which is better? A bit or nothing?

Regret for a lifetime or adjusting?

I wouldn't mind letting go

Of what I want so badly,

Just to have it close in sight,

To watch it, admire it,

Love it silently and still not fight.

Can we be friends for once?

Not foes or lovers or bedtime partners?

Is it possible to trust

When you've been hurt before?

It is, anything is possible

Everything is in reach,

If one only learns honesty.

To win hearts, to have a companion for life,

One needs to bare all,

Without fear or fright.

Nothing goes wrong,

If you only learn to compromise,

To say, I got you,

I always got you,

Even when you're not always right.

Maybe I'm old fashioned,

Or too futuristic,

But I believe the answers

Always lie in the middle.

I don't want a

'See you on the other side',

I want it all in this life.

I want to meet

At the centre of the slope,

Neither at the top or bottom,

But halfway there,

Between the borderland

Of hope and despair.

Pull up a chair

And finalise the dream.

We'll meet in the in-between,

No regrets, no lies, no masks,

Only pure intentions and a promise

To be honest and accepting.

We will meet in the in-between,

Where the answer lies,

Where the puzzle finds

Its last missing piece.

We will meet someday,

Right in the middle

Of you and me.
